Watch! Stereophonics – Graffiti On The Train

Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band and if you live in Canada, there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of them (unless you are smart and check out PeteHatesMusic.com). Toronto is the only place I’ve ever heard them on radio despite the band producing some of the best rock music out of the UK in the past 15 years. Last month they released their 8th studio album (but not in Canada, Kelly Jones get on this!), Graffiti On The Train. PHM explorers have already heard the new songs Violins and Tambourines, and In A Moment. Now Stereophonics have released a new video for the album’s title track.

I like the new song, it has kind of a more serious/sombre tone to it, with beautiful-sounding string parts showing up here and there. The video is a simple live performance in front of a big screen showing the POV of a train heading down an endless track. The lyrics scroll across the screen as frontman Kelly Jones sings, which is good for all you people who keep getting the words to songs wrong (I’m talking to you people who think the Tragically Hip song about Bill Barilko is called Nifty Fishing Cap).
