Watch! Stereophonics – Violins and Tambourines

Welsh rockers, Stereophonics, have a new song from their upcoming 8th studio album. They also have a new drummer in Jamie Morrison, having parted ways with Javier Weyler. Singer Kelly Jones has talked about the new video, noting “I’ve loved film and music ever since I was a kid. When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I’ve always wanted to combine them both. Directing for the first time with a fantastic crew and cast was a great experience.”

The track follows the naming convention of Stereophonics songs, pairing odd things like ‘The Bartender and the Thief’ and ‘Rainbows & Pots of Gold’. Okay, that last one seems like a good match. The song is a gentle one, with soft strings and vocals, building towards a rock out ending. Give it a viewing down yonder.

These guys have to be Tragically Hip fans, they used the lyric “tragically hip” on their last album, and “violins and tambourines” is the first line from “The Last of the Unplucked Gems” off Road Apples.
