Morning Music Notes – Buy My House and My Album
The Kooks are back with new music. We caught them at Optimus Alive in Portugal as well as opening for Noel Gallagher in London. The band’s new tune is called Down, which is where you need to look on this page to find the track.
Down is a bit of a different sound from the band, with less of a rock feel and more of a rhythm and beat focused track. The track was produced by hip hop artist Inflo, and co-written/co-produced by the band’s singer Luke Pritchard. Check it out down below.
Morning Music Notes
Sad news out of Austin at SXSW. A drunk driver was trying to get away from police and plowed into a SXSW area, killing 2 people, and injuring 23 people based on initial reports. Let your friends and family know you’re okay, SXSW goers. (via Stereogum)
We know that Neil Young is dropping an album called A Letter Home. What we now know is that Osheaga headliner Jack White will appear on 2 songs. We can always use a little more Jack White. (via Pitchfork)
Sticking with Neil Young, his new, high quality music device – PonoPlayer – has launched on Kickstarter. As of this morning, it has over $2.3 million raised, meaning it has surpassed its target of $800,000. What is interesting is comparing which artists’ signature series is selling the best (for the $400 donation). Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young have all 500 sold out, same with Pearl Jam. My Morning Jacket have only sold just over 20, Dave Matthews has sold 90. I can make anything a contest! (via Kickstarter)
Maynard James Keenan from Tool may or may not be done recording the latest Tool album, but that is not his primary concern. He wants you to buy his house, which is going for a cool $2.5 million. (via Rolling Stone)
