Morning Music Notes – The One Person You Want to Return to Star Wars

Atoms for Peace wrapped up three days at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. They used the music streaming app Soundhalo to allow fans to purchase audio and video of their performance for one of the nights in hopes that they would put their bloody cellphones away and watch the show with their eyes, and not through a 3 inch screen.

Remember when Jay Z rapped his Picasso Baby song for 6 hours straight? The performance will air on HBO this Friday for Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film. Let’s hope the film was edited down (via Billboard)

Kanye West announces a free music writing program through his non-profit Donda’s House charity. The program is called Got Bars? and all students must write songs about how amazing Kanye is at everything (via Pitchfork)

Cleveland kidnap victim Amanda Berry attends a Nelly show and goes on stage with him, as Nelly tries to trick her that he is still popular. This was Berry’s first public appearance (via Toronto Star)

The free and aptly named Virgin Mobile FreeFest will feature Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Robin Thicke, CHVRCHES, City and Colour, and more. The festival takes place September 21 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD (via Billboard)
