Morning Music Notes – Will Hologram Elvis Need to Shed Some Weight, Too?

Another New Live Radiohead Song!

Any time Radiohead are making music, my world is a better place. And after Tuesday’s show in Cincinnati, USA, Radiohead have played another new song, called Full Stop. On their previous North American leg of the tour they also played several new songs, Identikit and Cut a Hole.

Full Stop has emerged online, and the fanboy in me desperately wants to listen to it. However, after obsessing over their new live songs and then hearing drastically altered studio versions, I am resisting. This is harder than the time I gave up sex (and by gave up, I meant gave up being rejected by girls). Okay, I started to listen – but it’s SO very quiet since it’s from their soundcheck, and it borders on pointless on posting. However, give your ears a test and listen to it below.

Didn’t See This Coming: Elvis Presley is Getting a Hologram

The company that “brought Tupac back to life” have confirm that Elvis Presley will be getting the same treatment (via NME). 2 comments about Elvis getting a hologram: 1) Don’t we have a million impersonators of him? Do we need a hologram? and 2) I thought Elvis was alive? Aren’t there sightings of him hanging out with Big Foot in the National Enquirer all the time?

Digital Domain Media has teamed up with Core Media Group, the company that owns the licence rights to Presley, to bring this inevitable hologram to people everywhere. Not only will he be performing, but he will appear in film and television. Kill.Me.Now.

Why You Shouldn’t Wander Into The Crowd – A$AP Rocky Gets Rolex Stolen By “Fan”

After much publicity, I decided to ignore the whole “Axl Rose got $200,000 worth of jewellery stolen from dressing room by a model” because, well, I don’t care. But this is slightly different. A$AP Rocky was in London last night, playing at Camden’s Electric Ballroom (where I saw some Camden Crawl gigs). Rocky went down into the crowd to rap and then shouted that his $15,000 Rolex was stolen by someone in the crowd (via Gigwise). Was it a model who just ripped off Axl Rose?

Security and other rappers came over, as Rocky shouted “Does it look like I’m playing right now? We not gon’ end our show just ’cause somebody took a $15,000 watch. F**k it, man.” I guess those real Rolexes don’t have great clutches, do they?

This led to chaos, fights, and then more chaos. And it was all captured on glorious video, and put on YouTube, as things of this nature do. Check out the madness below, and watch a woman grope Rocky as he walks past her looking for his watch.

Listen! Four Tet – 128 Harps

Now that is a lot of harps. We’ve got some new music from Four Tet. You might’ve heard the Four Tet and Burial track for Nova before, but did that sample harps? Yeah, I don’t know either. But this does – check out 128 Harps by London producer Four Tet.
