Morning Music Notes – Ticketmaster and Walmart, Together at Last (in Hell)

Generally, a lot of rock music, particularly heavy metal, is about the devil and hell. Also generally, if you want to go to a concert, you need to deal with the devil. If it wasn’t bad enough that Ticketmaster nearly had a monopoly on the ticket industry, they had to go and merge with competitor Live Nation at the beginning of 2010, prompting several competition lawsuits. The devil of the retail world is widely accepted to be Walmart. What happens when you combine 2 devils? I don’t know the answer to that – it was more hypothetical than anything else. If my bumbling segue didn’t clue you in, Ticketmaster now has outlets in 140 Walmart stores across America, says the Hollywood Reporter.

“Before August 15, Walmart shoppers are being offered a special on “4-Pack” ticket bundles. Concerts included in the “4-Pack” vary by region and include Journey, Maroon 5 and Train, the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, Toby Keith, Santana and Rascal Flatts, and Motley Crue and Poison.”

It is apparent that the concert quality matches that of the general clothing section in Walmart.

Adele’s Next Album Will Sell Billions To Have Different Musical Style

Chart ruler Adele says that her next album will have a country/bluegrass/rockabilly feel to it. NME reports (via the Sun) that Adele has said “I was exposed to a lot of country, rockabilly and bluegrass because I was touring for such a long time. The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I’m going be pursuing heavily from now on. I want to spend some time in Austin in Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it.”

Can someone please expose Adele to some good olde rock n roll?
