Listen! Oliver Coates – Raimondas Rumsas

It’s Monday, so we’re going to go a little off course today. While it’s clear we love instrumental music, we’re going to feature a couple of different instrumental tracks for you today. These tracks will differ somewhat from the Godspeed You! Black Emperor / Explosions in the Sky sort of tracks we feature when we feature instrumental tracks. The first is from Oliver Coates, a renowned cellist.

Coates has a dream CV – he’s worked with Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood, DOOM, Massive Attack, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and arranged the Boards of Canada track In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country. Coates is now readying the release of Towards the blessed islands. The track we’re featuring is the slow drone of Raimondas Rumsas. The changes are subtle, but it’s a great piece to lose a few minutes to while daydreaming about eating giant gummi bears. Check out Oliver Coates below.
