Listen! The Strokes – One Way Trigger

Remember when The Strokes helped kick start the garage rock revival? Of course a band is allowed, and encouraged, to evolve, but let’s just say that the new Strokes track is a bit of a 180. We have Julian Casablanca doing a surprisingly impressive (and unrecognizable) falsetto. We have a synth heavy track, with a guitar solo thrown in so that they don’t lose all of their fans. Is this really it?

Haters will say the track – One Way Trigger – is a bad cover of Take On Me, and to that – I chuckle and slightly agree. Check it out below and see what you think of the somewhat surprising new direction.
