Make Music Using the Lego-esque SoundMachine
There are all sorts of ways to make music. Some of them are more complicated than necessary, while some are fun to mess around with. One such application is the xool looking, online Seaquence that we featured before.
Another such method is to use a Lego-esque device made by Mark Crosbie (via Gizmodo). It’s sort of like an old-fashioned punch card that computers used to use.
The box connects to a PC, and scans in the blocks you place on the panel to make a beat sequence. Yes, it’s simple, but your kids can make music (if they aren’t too busy eating the pieces). The software converts the blocks into a MIDI signal that goes to Ableton Live, which produces the final sequence. Check out a demo below.
