Listen! The House of the Rising Son as Reimagined by Computers

Someone with too much time on their hand has posted a video on the internet that features old computers playing an instrumental version of The Animals classic House of the Rising Sun. The first part of that last sentence is irrelevant, as pretty much every person who posts a video to YouTube has too much time on their hand. That being said, this is quite impressive.

Apparently the songs are all made by a range of old computers and features no samples. The ‘band’ includes on the vocals, an HP Scanjet 3P, Adaptec SCSI card and a computer powered by Ubuntu. On keys, an Atari 800XL with an EiCO Oscilloscope. Playing guitar, a Texas instrument Ti-99/4A with a Tektronix Oscilloscope. And finally, pounding out the beat, a Hard-drive powered by a PiC16F84A microcontroller (via Gizmodo).

The song is strangely hypnotic.
