Woo hoo! Jack White Announces Solo Album, Previews Song

Jack White, one of the more innovative and interesting people in music today, has announced that he is releasing a solo album (via Gigwise). The former White Stripes frontman, and current front man (I think) of both Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, has named his album Blunderbuss, which sounds like some kind of magical whale or something. The album is out on April 23, and features lead single Love Interruption, which you (and ONLY you) can listen to below. Jack White produced and recorded the album himself – but of course he did!

Jack White has said “‘Blunderbuss’ is an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

The single features non-album B-side Machine Gun Silhouette, and the single is out on February 7. Surprise! Check out Jack White’s website for details (I told you pretty much everything, though).
