Sunday Morning Coming Down with Charles Bradley

We heard Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaires this past week as part of our ongoing coverage of RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest in Ottawa – and we were blown away.

Not only is this guy a more gruff version of The Godfather of Soul, his story is quite amazing. Charles spend decades in-and-out of trouble, in-and-out of a place to live, and in-and-out of many dark, lonely, lounge acts.

He released his debut album in 2011, and it is awesome. His band, the Extraordinaires are a tight, funky, 2-step soul band – a perfect fit for an incredible talent.
