Camden Crawl Critical Conclusions for….The Rumour Said Fire (2012 Camden Crawl Review)

PeteHatesMusic is at the 2012 Camden Crawl, and giving a gig by gig review as they happen. Below is our Camden Crawl Critical Conclusions for….The Rumour Said Fire.

Venue: Electric Ballroom

First Impressions:Are you REM in disguise? Spoiler alert: No. But don’t argue with my first impression. The Rumour Said Fire have more lush songs.

Stage Presence: 7/10 – Well, they were there. Not overbearing but not dominant.

Crowd Reaction: 7/10 – Respectful.

Banter: 7/10. “If you like what you hear, buy it. Or download it and share it – we don’t care!”

Number of times they said their band name: Once.

Water/alcohol/neither: Cans of beer! And the Danish band drank a Danish beer, Carlsberg. Don’t you get enough of that back home?! The singer also had water.

The Last Word: 8/10 – Some songs reminded me of the Decemberists, some reminded me of REM, and some reminded me
of generic adult contemporary radio stuff (infrequently, thankfully). I’m glad I caught this Danish 5-piece band.

Since we both like spending our weekends walking around Camden discovering bands, how about you “follow PeteHatesMusic on Twitter” and “Like PeteHatesMusic on Facebook” to ensure we help each other a) discover cool new bands and b) not pass out in a ditch in Camden.
