Marilyn Manson and Johnny Deep to Team Up
Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp are friends – who knew? Now the odd couple are teaming up for a cover of Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain (via Hollywood Reporter). The song will not feature in the 18th edition of Pirates of the Caribbean, but rather on Marilyn Manson’s 8th album, Born Villain, which is out on May 1.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse to Team Up
Out on June 5, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will be releasing their first album together since 1996 (via Pitchfork). The album will include some old folk tunes, such as Oh Susannah and She’ll Be Comin’ Round The Mountain, which will feature a choir of children. Sounds about right. “What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist, the emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what’s going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. They are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written.”
3 Million iPads Sold Since March 16
Apple have sold 3 million “new” iPads since its launch, and this does not include pre-orders – not sure why not (via Crave). These represent the strongest sales of any iPad launch. Can Apple do any wrong of late? Since the first iPad went on sale in 2010, Apple have sold a whopping 58 million iPads.
So what is Apple doing with all that excess cash it has on hand? It’s giving out a dividend, for the first time since 1995, which is also the last time I kissed a girl (via Toronto Star). The dividend will be a $2.65 quarterly dividend, which will not close any doors for Apple, according to Tim Cook. The stock price is now over $600, and I’m kicking myself for not buying it at $100, when I first contemplated doing so. FML. Of course, when it hits $2000 next year, I’ll look back on THIS statement and regret still sitting on my ass, not buying it.
