Morning Music Notes – Crap We’ll Release After You’re Dead
Majical Cloudz’s singer Devon Welsh’s dad might’ve starred in Twin Peaks, but there is no connection to the band Twin Peaks. Then why lead off with such a useless sentence? The Chicago band are gearing up for album numero 2 and have a new track for us.
The Twin Peaks song is called Flavor, further cementing the fact they’re American by the weird spelling of “flavour”. The song is a refreshing 2 minute burst of catchy rockness. Have fun below.
Morning Music Notes
RiotFest in Toronto has a pretty good line up – the Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, City and Colour, the National, Death from Above 1979, Metric, Tokyo Police Club, the New Pornographers, the Afghan Whigs, Bob Mould, and so on. Add to that list The Cure, as they’ll play (and headline?) the September 6-7 festival at Downsview Park. (via Exclaim)
Patrick Carney and his band The Black Keys might be in an album chart battle with Michael Jackson and his posthumous album Xcape. His thoughts on Xscape? “[It’s] some fucking bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.” Tell us what you really think. (via Rolling Stone)
Patrick Carney’s best friend, Justin Bieber, is in trouble again. Now this might fall under the category of ridiculous rumour, but given Bieber’s recent downward spiral, nothing is beyond him. The Biebs has been accused of attempted robbery. Someone call an intervention – if we can get Rob Ford to rehab, we can do anything. (via Billboard)
