Morning Music Notes – Gettin’ Paid, Bitch!
SZA has teamed with Kendrick Lamar for a new track called Babylon. The song is produced by DJ Dahi, and is out now.
Babylon sees SZA’s sweet vocals mixing nicely with the ethereal production sounds, which are then cut up by Lamar’s raps (which aren’t about Compton, for once). Give it a listen below.

Peaches Geldof, daughter of Bob Geldof (Live Aid concert founder) and Paula Yates, has died at the age of 25. She was the mother of 2 kids under the age of 2, and was found dead in her home in Kent, UK. No word on the cause of death yet. (via NME)
Kanye West, who hasn’t been in the news in at least the past 2 days, has announced that his new Adidas shoes will be out in June. The shoe will be called the Yeezi and will likely sell for a ridiculous price. Keep that in mind when you know in your heart you could beat Kanye in a race in your beat up Converse shoes. Are celebs paid to go to Coachella? Apparently companies pony up cash for people to wear their clothes, rep their brands, and the usual bullshit. The likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Aaron Paul, and Kate Bosworth are either getting paid or demanding to be paid to be there. Isn’t it bad enough that we have Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan hamming it up and ruining Coachella anyway? (via Consequence of Sound)
Saul Williams, poet, actor, singer, Trent Reznor-collaborator, has signed up for the lead role in Holler If Ya Hear Me, a musical inspired by the work of Tupac Shakar. So he’ll be playing Tupac, right? Wrong – this isn’t a biography, but more about the songs and lyrics. Instead, he’ll play “John”, whoever the hell that is. (via Stereogum)
