Morning Music Notes – Courtney Love is Thinking Outside of the Box
Some more new stuff from Calgary’s Reuben and the Dark, following up that of Rolling Stone. The band are readying their Arts & Crafts release of Funeral Sky and have a good little track in Bow and Arrow.
The track is a slow burning one, with building layers and gentle and soothing vocals throughout. The band are in Toronto on Tuesday March 25 with The Darcys and NO, which should make for one great show. Check out Bow and Arrow below.

Fear not, 20 or so countries that are looking for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane – Courtney Love has looked at the picture that millions of us have and pointed out the oil spill and the ensuing plane wreckage. How did we not see that?! I guess we’ll all be eating our words when she turns out to be right?? (via Stereogum)
Sadly, Mick Jagger’s longtime girlfriend L’Wren Scott was found dead in her New York City apartment. Initial reports are saying that she killed herself. She was 47 years old. (via Consequence of Sound)
Remember when M.I.A. decided to upstage Madonna (!!) and flipped the bird to billions of people worldwide at the Super Bowl halftime show? The NFL is suing M.I.A., for a reasonable sum of $16.6 MILLION. $15.1M for “restitution” and $1.5M for breach of contract. Good luck, NFL! (via Rolling Stone)
Kanye “don’t look at me” West has been sentenced to two years probation for attacking a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport. This has happened several times, so West doesn’t even know which specific incident this is. West also has 250 hours of community service, as well as mandatory anger management classes (24), and he needs to spend a day in jail (although it’ll likely be literally a few minutes).
