Morning Music Notes – Who Are Recording An Album This Year?

You’ve already heard the catchy as hell new track by rising Danish star MØ. You can now see if the imaginary video that you made up in your head matches what she came up with, as we have a video for Don’t Wanna Dance.

For someone that doesn’t (or “don’t”) want (or “wanna”) dance, there sure is a lot of dancing in the video. The electro pop / hard to classify singer will drop her highly anticipated debut album No Mythologies to Follow on February 24. Stay tuned for an upcoming interview on PeteHatesMusic, too.

More names have been added to this year’s edition of Canadian Music Week (which we covered extensively last year). We’ll see City and Colour, Tegan and Sara, M.I.A., Ellie Goulding, Half Moon Run, King Khan and BBQ Show, and many more. This year, it’s in May, so (hopefully) no winter coats needed! (via Exclaim)

The Squamish Valley Music Festival has a pretty slick line up (apart from that Bruno Mars character). Headliners will be Arcade Fire, Eminem, and said Bruno Mars. There will also be Arctic Monkeys, Broken Bells, The Roots, Austra, Tokyo Police Club, The Zolas, and more. The festival is August 8-10 in beautiful British Columbia.

Roger Daltrey has stated that The Who will record a new album this year. Sadly, half of the original line up have passed away, so it’s just Roger and Pete Townsend. The Who are also about to celebrate their 50th anniversary. I hope I die before I get old. (via NME)

Can Justin Bieber get in anymore trouble? If you thought being arrested for drag racing and drinking and driving would be the low, and he’d turn things around, you are clearly a FOOL! Yesterday, Justin Bieber turned himself into the Toronto Police! What the hell. He allegedly assaulted a limo driver when he was in Toronto in December. His mom must be proud. Weird bonus news: a petition to revoke his Green Card has been signed by over 100,000 people in the US, meaning that the White House legally has to issue a response. What a crazy effing world.
