Morning Music Notes – Get Rich Schemes (By Insulting Kanye West)
Think back to a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth – 2013. I might be wrong about that dinosaurs bit. We introduced you to a talented, Australian producer oddly named Vancouver Sleep Clinic, and his track Collapse. Vancouver Sleep Clinic has teamed up with GXNXVS and taken a stab at covering Drake’s Hold On We’re Going Home, following in the footsteps of Arctic Monkeys.
While Arctic Monkeys chose to go the rock route for the cover, Vancouver Sleep Clinic and GXNXVS chose to go the soft, ethereal way, slowing things down for the ladies. Or something like that. Check out the latest Drake cover below.

Slowdive are getting back together. This news will either blow you away if you’re a fan, or blow over you if you’ve never heard of the shoegaze rockers. The band are playing the Primavera Sound festival – and then more. (via Stereogum)
Now in the opposite realms of a reunion and a band people might not still care about – Mötley Crüe. The band have done a few cash grab tours, but are now ‘officially’ making retirement plans after a foorthcoming 70+ show tour. And as a further gimmick, the band have signed an official Cessation Of Touring Agreement, which apparently stops them from future touring. The band hit Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre on August 10. The Grammys Executive Producer has apologized to Trent Reznor, following his complaints of being cut off at the end of the show. The apology was rather pathetic in my opinion, as he noted “I did tell them we’d take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get.” Um, thanks! (via Consequence of Sound)
Prince was planning on suing 22 bootlegging fans for a cool million each. Realizing that you don’t make friends this way (hello, Metallica!), he has withdrawn the lawsuit. (via NME)
One man’s Get Rich Scheme (By Insulting Kanye West) worked. After swearing at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and using racial slurs, Kanye hit the man. They settled out of court for $250,000. (via Gigwise)
