Morning Music Notes – Iron Maiden Name

British musician Joe Mount is back. Who the hell is Joe Mount? You might know him as Metronomy. His second record got a big boost last night, as the new track was named BBC radio host Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World. What is this new track? It’s called I’m Aquarius and it’s catchy as fuck.

I’m Aquarius is off of forthcoming new album, Love Letters, which is out March 10/11. For now, listen to the slick beats and backing “shoop doop doop ahhh” sounds in the latest work from Metronomy.

Did you know that Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley killed JFK took Avril Lavigne’s last name during their marriage? I don’t think anyone else knew, either, until Whibley filed a petition to have the last name changed back to his maiden name. Be careful not to take the last name of your wife again, especially if those Bo Derek dating rumours are true, Deryck Derek. (via Hollywood Reporter)

Actor RJ Mitte, who played Flynn (Walter White Jr.) on Breaking Bad, is embarking on a musical career. Like on the show, Mitte has mild celebral palsy and is having difficulty learning the guitar and piano. Mitte says, “I’m learning guitar, I’m learning piano. I have a bit of an issue as I only have one good hand and one good ear, but I’m slowly getting over it one day at a time. We’ll see what happens.” Best of luck to the seemingly nice fellow. The really geeky looking Google Glass is going to benefit music lovers, too. The spectacled users can search through their Google Play Music accounts from the device. It is also expected that stereo earbuds connected to Google Glass will also be available. (via Digital Music News)
