Broken Social Scene to Reunite for Toronto Show with Tons of Other Great Bands
Good news, Broken Social Scene fans. The band are playing their first show since their 2011 ‘break’, as part of a big Arts & Crafts festival call Field Trip. That’s Arts & Crafts as in the Toronto music label, not your grandma’s evening hobby. The line up for the June 8 festival is quite excellent – Broken Social Scene, Feist, Bloc Party, Ra Ra Riot, Cold Specks, Timber Timbre, Hayden, Trust, the Darcys, Jason Collett, Zeus, Gold & Youth, and Still Life Still.
The celebration is for the label’s 10th anniversary, which was co-founded by Kevin Drew of BSS fame. The show is at the Fort York and Garrison Common. Check out a trailer which basically puts images to my words above.
The best part? Kids are free! It’s like eating at some American restaurant (minus the ridiculous portion sizes). Unfortunately, this doesn’t help me at all, so it’s clearly not the best part, especially if they’re going to clog the beer line. Damn alcoholic babies. Early bird tickets are $55 and on sale this Wednesday at 10:30 EST. Regular general admission tickets are $75 and are on sale on Friday, and VIP tickets for you upper class folks are $120.
