Apple’s App Store Hits 40 Billion Downloads
If you hadn’t read the headline, and you were asked to guess how many apps from Apple’s iTunes store have been downloaded, would you have guessed 40 billion? If you said yes, then you are what I call a liar. Amazingly, Apple has announced that they have hit the 40 billion download mark since opening the store 4 years ago, with half coming in the past year alone (via Digital Trends).
There are now just under 800,000 apps in the App Store, which can be downloaded in 155 countries. It should be noted that 99% of the apps are useless and you will only use for 2 minutes before becoming bored with them.
