Morning Music Notes – What’s Old is New Again
Damon Albarn, the frontman of half of all bands in England, has another new track from his first ever solo album. Following up that of Lonely Press Play comes Heavy Seas Of Love.
The track jumps between musical styles, with a choir and gospel feel at some parts, and layered melodies and a mix of sounds at other parts. It’s not straight-forward, but it’s not out there (said in a stoner voice). Check it out and see what I mean (hopefully).

Lollapalooza has a poster with its 2014 line up for Chicago on it. However, unless you’re Superman or some other superhero who has the benefit of crazy good eye sight (Doc Tomistrist? Might’ve made that up) you won’t be able to read it. Squint and try your best below. Tickets are on sale today at 10am CT, which is 11am ET. (via Consequence of Sound)
The man with the ever-changing name has changed it yet again. Once known as Sean Combs (hello, birth), then Puff Daddy, then P Diddy, then just Diddy, is now – Puff Daddy yet again. He has a new album on the way, rumoured to be called MMM. His track Big Homie will drop in 7 days. Will it flop or is he still relevant? (via Pitchfork)
Andre 3000 is teaming up with Aretha Franklin for her album. Respect! (via NME)
