Morning Music Notes – Let’s Go Back to Bed
I have felt like crap these past 2 days, after surviving 2013 without really getting sick. I should be in bed, so you guys will get a brief rundown of what’s happening in the music world.
Dum Dum Girls have a new track which pays tribute to French poet Arthur Rimbaud (naturally). The track is called Rimbaud Eyes and is off of Too True, out January 29. Check out the gloom pop track below, and check out previous album cut Lost Boys and Girls Club.
Morning Music Notes
OutKast are apparently playing 40 festival dates. Cha-fucking-ching! (via Guardian)
When the Mars Volta opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers a few years ago, John Frusciante did double duty, playing in both bands on the tour. He also dabbled in some studio recordings with the band. The friendship has blossomed to the point that the former RHCP guitarist has formed a new band called Kimono Kult with Omar Rodríguez-López. Teri Gender Bender will sing, and an EP is out on March 4. Kanye West apparently beat up an 18 year old after he made racist and derogatory marks to baby mama Kim Kardashian. He’s now being invested for said attacks. Oh, Kanye! (via Exclaim)
The Simpsons called Judas Priest ‘death metal’. They then apologized, chalk board intro styes. (via Stereogum)
