Morning Music Notes – Get Out of My Way Foo Fighters, I Ordered a Pizza
Young Galaxy are ending 2013 on a high note by premiering a brand new video for their track Fever. It was a successful year with many accolades for their Ultramarine album, with the Montreal band also releasing a few videos, including Pretty Boy and Blah.
We have some good lead vocals and backing harmonies in Fever, with the music calling back to a previous genre during the verses. Check out the animated video below.

In case you missed our Twitter feed exploding yesterday (not literally), NXNE has announced some acts for its 20th anniversary extravaganza next June. We get major acts such as St. Vincent, Run the Jewels (Killer Mike and El-P, who blew Rich away at Bluesfest), Mac Demarco, Rhye, Odonis Odonis, and more. Check out all of the acts announced, and buy some wristbands while you’re on the NXNE site.
Reason #57 to open up a pizza restaurant: a major band might decide to play your pizza parlour. This is exactly what Foo Fighters did, when they turned up at Rock & Roll Pizza in Moorpark, California. The band originally on the bill was Taylor Hawkins’ Chevy Metal side project, who were sadly replaced by FOO FIGHTERS. The band played a massive two and a half hours. I sure hope they got some free pizza, because this place is getting a ton of free publicity. Check out some footage from the show. (via Stereogum)

Hipster spoofing show Portlandia is about to kick off season 4. What better time to bring into the fold musicians such as Josh Homme, Jeff Tweedy, Duff McKagan, St. Vincent and more. They will all make some guest appearances, which is even better if you’re a Guns n’ Roses fan and wondering what Duff has been up to. The show returns February 27. (via Exclaim)
Flying Lotus said he has an album out at some point next year. As a thank you to fans, FlyLo has uploaded a zip file with unreleased songs, which he described as “Ideas+drafts+loops”. One of the more noticeable tracks is a Black Skinhead Remix featuring Thundercat. Grab it here (and make sure you have a virus checker on hand, just in case).
