Morning Music Notes – Hyperbole Almost Met
Although skeptical when reading the PR email saying this artist’s style “has been compared to Prince, with musical similarities of a Daft Punk live set crossed with Modest Mouse”, I decided to listen to the track. While not reaching the heights of the influenced artists, I still have a good track for you nonetheless. Take a listen to London’s Gentry.
With the track Not Like Me, we have a catchy, looping guitar line, some synth, some falsetto, and other 80s-esque components thrown into the pot. The result is an enjoyable track. Check out the black and white video by Gentry below.

Morning Music Notes
The Cavern in Liverpool, where The Beatles were discovered oh so many years ago, is being put up for auction. Whatever goes there will hopefully have a wacky waving inflatable arm flaling tube man outside (via Gigwise)
Less exciting is Metallica appearing on the Colbert Report on Tuesday. More exciting is Atoms for Peace showing up and playing on The Daily Show on Wednesday night, as they kick off their US tour. They play Brooklyn on Friday, and I might throw my underwear on stage at Thom Yorke. (via Consequence of Sound)
While recovering from a fractured skull, Beady Eye’s Gem Archer reportedly breaks his leg in his house. Did Noel Gallagher booby trap the wrong place? (via Gigwise)
After conquering the world with their banjos and a couple of albums, Mumford & Sons are taking an indefinite hiatus. (via Guardian)
Muse are going to release a 4K concert film (highest resolution concert ever shot, apparently). Details still emerging, but if you’ve seen Muse in concert, it’ll be a good experience (via Rolling Stone)
Thanks to Amazon in France, Arcade Fire’s tracklist for Reflektor might’ve leaked and it might look like this (via Exclaim):
