Friday Afternoon Funnies: Auditioning for The Postal Service

Although they only released one album, The Postal Service got a lot of love for their fantastic debut effort. That’s why people were pretty excited when it was announced that Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello were getting together for some shows, as well as releasing some new songs as part of a 10 year anniversary edition of Give Up.

The band have shown their funny side, teaming up with Funny or Die to post a 2002 audition tape for the band. We get musicians like Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, Nate Mendel from Foo Fighters, Moby, and heck, even Weird Al shows up. The band could’ve been very different – and SO much better! Check out what could’ve been in this week’s edition of Friday Afternoon Funnies.
