Alt-J Win The Barclaycard Mercury Prize with Debut Album, An Awesome Wave
Alt-J have beaten out tough competition in Django Django, Jessie Ware, Richard Hawley, to name a few, to win their first Barclaycard Mercury Prize for Best British or Irish album at the awards. Their album, An Awesome Wave, featured great songs such as Tessellate, Something Good, Fitzpleasure, and my personal favourite, Breezeblocks, which you can listen to below.
Even Mumford & Sons covered them, which was pretty cool. PeteHatesMusic caught them in St. Pancras Station in London for an acoustic set, before their album was even released. Yup, fans from the beginning – and that’s why you should read this blog. That, and we are underwear models in our spare time
Congrats, Alt-J – enjoy the ride.
