What Happens When Insane in the Membrane by Cypress Hill is Played Through a Squid
So, what do you know about squids, besides “they taste kind of yummy”? Well, unlike you or I who shit our pants when we feel threatened, squids change colours. How exactly it works, no one knows. This led Backyard Brains to team with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to do some testing (via Geekosystem). What the team did was attach an electrode to the dorsal fin of the squid, and delivered some electrical impulse via some music. And nothing says fear like a little rap, so they chose Cypress Hill’s Insane in the Membrane.
The impressive results were filmed under a microscope to make one pretty cool and colourful music video. Try getting high and watching this, Cypress Hill! For those who like science, read the paper here. For those who can’t read and like pretty colours, check out the video below. Pay attention to the music change up at the 2:18 mark.
