Friday Afternoon Funnies – O Fortuna or Gopher Tuna?

Misheard song lyrics are something that have been around for years, and spawned many urban legends and controversies. Simon and Garfunkel’s Mrs. Robinson says “Jesus loves you more than you will know”, BUT this was heard by some as “She’s a slut and more then you will know”. Jimi Hendrix sings “Excuse me while I kiss the sky” and people heard “excuse me while I kiss this guy”, which made Freddie Mercury pay a little more attention to young Jimi. I could go on, but there are other websites for such information I’m sure.

The classic Latin poem, O Fortuna, was set to music sometime early in the 20th century. You might not know it by name, but will definitely recognize the dramatic tune from television commercials and movies. Someone has taken the Latin version of this song and put subtitled English words to the video – words, which clearly don’t fit.
