Watch! Perfume Genius – Dark Parts

Perfume Genius released a (non-controversial) controversial video for the amazing song, Hood, off of his album Put Your Back N 2 It (named for the Ice Cube song). There is now another video from the Perfume Genius album for Dark Parts. The video features singer Mike Hadreas (who is Perfume Genius btw) and his mom, Carmen Hadreas-Boggs, who Pitchfork tells us is who the song is about. The video is also directed by Pitchfork.tv’s Winston Case, which explains the love-in for Perfume Genius from their camp. Cynicism aside, Perfume Genius is a good artist, as demonstrated in the new song, Dark Parts, for which the video features a lot of Scorsese-esque long shots. Check it out.
