Watch! Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) – Niggas in Poorest

You might have heard of Yasiin Bey (he used to be Mos Def) and his project, the Top 40 Underground series, which we previously covered. The first song Yasiin tackled in his socio-conscious remixes was Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Niggas in Paris, with his version titled Niggas in Poorest.

Now Yasiin has released a self-directed video for the song. It features footage of Bernie Madoff being arrested, as well as Saddam Hussein’s trial, a Malcolm X speech, and of course Yasiin himself. The lyrics are also captioned at the bottom, so you can note the changes to the original (assuming you have the original memorized).
