Morning Music Notes – Stop the Presses: A New Paris Hilton Album?!

The Mars Volta Confirm Album Details

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala are going to have a busy year. The Mars Volta duo are releasing a new album this year, AND reforming with their old At The Drive-In bandmates and playing Coachella and other gigs. The Mars Volta have confirmed that they will release their next album on March 27, and it will be called Noctourniquet (via Billboard). The album is to be a concept album, with elements of “1980’s U.K. alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy, and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus,” according to a release. One thing is guaranteed: lots of abstract noodling and obscure song titles.

Happy Mondays are Reforming with Original Line Up

It is more shocking these days if you were to tell me that a band are not reforming rather than they are reforming. The latest band to wake up and smell the dollars are The Happy Mondays (via NME). Following in the footsteps of another reformed Manchester band, the Stone Roses, the Happy Mondays will tour the UK and play festivals this summer. The band previously reformed, but without the entire original lineup.

Introducing Chill, a New Way of Sharing Videos

Have you used Chill yet? It’s a website that presents videos that others are watching and sharing, and allows you to comment and upload your own content. The new Chill now supports any video, from YouTube, to Vimeo to College Humor to “pretty much everything under the sun: ESPN, Crackle, Funny or Die, you name it!,” says co-founder Brian Norgard (via Tech Crunch). People can bring in videos from Facebook and Twitter, or post the video URL into Chill directly. You can watch friends’ videos, or see what is popular, and then you can share it and be popular yourself!

Since the launch earlier yesterday, people were signing up at a rate of about 10 people per minute. If you’re confused about how useful this can be, watch a short video below.

You Shouldn’t Care, But It’s News: Paris Hilton to Team with LMFAO

Paris Hilton, who has surprising been out of the news for more than 24 hours, has announced she is teaming up with LMFAO for a song on her hotly anticipated new album (via Billboard).

“I’m going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we’ve just been coming up with the most incredible tracks,” Paris Hilton said. Somehow, I highly doubt that.
