Morning Music Notes – Coldplay and Sex Toys, Together at Last?
What Do Coldplay and a Sex Toy Inventor Have in Common?
The headline that I thought I would never write. It turns out Chris Martin needs help where it counts. Coldplay have invested in an English electronics company (who happen to make sex toys) to help them interact with fans at concerts (via Gigwise). Er, interact HOW exactly? And how does Chris Martin know about this sex toy maker? He doesn’t have sex with his hot wife Gwyneth, does he?
“Speaking about the project, frontman Chris Martin told XFM: There’s a guy called Jason who likes Coldplay. He used to make mobile phone vibrating sex toys. Basically he’s an inventor. I think he came to Glastonbury this summer and he had an idea while we were playing to make these glowband things.”
Basically he’s an inventor – you’re only fooling yourself, Chris – he’s a pervert!
This Might Suck: Austin Powers – The Musical
Austin Powers was a decent comedy trilogy, which got weaker with each next movie. After Austin Powers, Mike Myers has watched his career disappear, after continuing the downward slide with a few box office bombs. How to save it? Well, a) revive Austin Powers and b) Make an Austin Powers musical, of course (via Gigwise). Do we need to hear “Yeah, baby” any more times before going insane?
“A source told The Sun: “Mike is in talks to turn Austin Powers into a musical stage show. Mike would be heavily involved in writing the show but he will not star in it, even though he has quite a good singing voice.”
“The news follows recent reports that Myers has signed up for a fourth instalment of the franchise. The long-awaited sequel to 2002’s Austin Powers In Goldmember to hit cinema screens in 2013 or 2014.”
You have to love it when you’re quoting a “source”, but journalism ain’t pretty. So let’s add the 4th Austin Powers to the most anticipated movie of 2013 – SARCASM ALERT.
Watch! Karen O and Trent Reznor Sing The Immigrant Song
Karen O is now married. Trent Reznor is married. This means nothing in relation to the post. But you have previously heard the cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song. Now you can watch a video, directed by David Fincher, who directed the movie for which Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross did the soundtrack (hint: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Watch the video below (depending on what country you’re in)
