Midday News Shorts – Feist Album Details, and U2’s Amy Winehouse Tribute
Looks like Sesame Street counting guest star Feist is back with a new album. Stereogum reports that it will be called Metals, and it will feature only heavy rock anthems. Okay, that last part is not true…or is it?! Metals will be out on October 4, and the mystery will be solved then. Teaser trailer with some strings (which are not heavy metal, sadly) is below.

U2 have paid tribute to recently deceased singer Amy Winehouse. They did not cover one of her songs, which would’ve been awesome, but rather dedicated a song to her. Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of, the terribly dull single from the otherwise spectacular All That You Can’t Leave Behind album, was originally written for INXS singer Michael Hutchence, but got a special dedication to Winehouse. The video is below. Russell Brand also paid tribute to Amy Winehouse on his blog. The post details Mr. Katy Perry’s friendship with fellow addict Amy. The letter has been praised by fans, who wished they were famous and had their thoughts read by millions.

Just read Russell Brand’s blog- very moving and beautifully written about the destructiveness of addiction and loss of a supremely talented young woman. Thanks for the link PHM….
