Camden Crawl Critical Conclusions for….Kid Canaveral (2012 Camden Crawl Review)
Day 2 of the 2012 Camden Crawl! Just like day 1, PeteHatesMusic is at the Camden Crawl, and giving a gig by gig review as they happen. Below is our Camden Crawl Critical Conclusions for….Kid Canaveral.
Venue: Earl of Camden
First Impressions: Catchy, toe tapping, head bobbin’ riffs.
Stage Presence: N/A – I stepped out and when I returned, I could barely see the band
Crowd Reaction: 8.5/10 – Despite the chatter, the bar was packed and the crowd was receptive.
Banter: 8/10 – Announced the song names generally. Top quotes: “This is a quiet one and might get drowned out since its so loud in here.”
“Buy our album – it’s a pure belter!”
Number of times they said their band name: I missed the start of the set, but I heard it twice. Definitely twice.
Water/alcohol/neither: I couldn’t see the stage…but I’ll assume they did tequila shots between songs.
The Last Word: 8.5/10 – Scottish indie pop, with male and female vocals playing off of one another. Building verses and generally catchy choruses, despite some disposable (yet fun) lyrics.
