The Best Songs About Drinking – Just in Time for St. Patrick’s Day!
St Patrick’s Day is tomorrow, and I’ll be drinking my face off in Ireland. To celebrate me crossing this off of my bucket list (drinking in Ireland on St Paddy’s Day, not me having beer), I’ve compiled 13 of the best songs about drinking. Why 13? Because I can! Or maybe it’s like those 12 packs of beer with a free one thrown in. Don’t question it – embrace it!
Now, these songs aren’t necessarily Irish, or tied to St. Paddy’s Day, or perhaps not even songs you’ll want to hear when drunk. These are songs about good olde fashioned alcohol. So as you prepare to put on some ridiculous green shirt and party hat, and celebrate the fact that you’re (likely) not Irish and are trying to cop a few cheap kisses by wearing your lame “Kiss Me I’m Irish” shirt, listen to these songs and thank whomever for inventing sweet, delicious, brain-cell killing alcohol.
We limited the list to one song per band, so we wouldn’t have an entire list of Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly songs. Instead, we have songs about parties (duh!), alcohol abuse, drunken fights, alcohol abuse, drinking while sad (is there any other time to drink?), and alcohol abuse.
The list is below, and the first song in the 13-track YouTube playlist is embedded. You can skip ahead if you don’t like the song (or skip back and listen to it again, but that’s tricky to do when drunk). The songs are listed below, in no particular order…except by letter of the alphabet, just to prove to my parents that I could do it. Enjoy!

How about your thoughts – obviously, there are many more songs we could’ve included, but we were half drunk when we wrote this list any glaring omissions? How about your own favourite songs about drinking and alcohol abuse? Were you inspired to drink when listening to the songs?
