Listen! Father John Misty – Bored in the USA

After being won over during an excellent Osheaga set in 2013, I’m happy to see the return of Father John Misty. The folk singer (and former Fleet Foxes drummer) has a new album called I Love You, Honeybear, out February 9/10. From that new album, he has the track Bored in the USA. Is that even possible?

It’s a slow, sparse, string-laden track, and nary a percussion sound. Towards the end, we get some laugh track and crowd applause, which is a tad odd. Give it a listen below. He rolls by Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on February 18 (yes, that’s 2015).
