Morning Music Notes: 36 Fans Hospitalized at Avicii Concert

Rant warning!

Now that the salacious headline has grabbed your attention, here’s a more accurate version: 20,000+ people did a lot of dancing in a claustrophobic, blisteringly hot venue. 36 of them didn’t drink enough fluids and got dangerously dehydrated. Sure, there were probably some drugs & or drinking involved in some of the cases, but if this had been the same temperature, the same level of physical exertion, the same amount of people at say… a Paul Simon concert, would the story be written the same way?

This is not a defence of Avicii, it’s a defence of young people. Rant over/
