Morning Music Notes – Let It Go, Adele
We’ve featured Arts & Crafts signees, Reuben and the Dark, a couple of times. The five-piece Calgary band have now announced their debut album, Funeral Sky, which I’m guessing is a dark, ominous sky with lots of crows and vultures. The album will hit stores and the Interwebs on May 27.
You don’t need to wait until then for more music though. The band have a new video for Rolling Stone. If you like night time drives, slow mo shots, and folk rock, you should check out the pleasant song below.

Taylor Hawkins aka drummer for Foo Fighters has a new gig. It’s in a band called The Birds of Satan, which are probably the kind of birds that are in the Funeral Sky that Reuben and the Dark talk of. Bassist Wiley Hodgden and guitarist Mick Murphy round out the band, which will see guest spots from Dave Grohl and Pat Smear from Foo Fighters. (via Rolling Stone)
So did anyone notice at the Oscars that John Travola called Let It Go singer Idina Menzel “Adele Nazeem”? Enough people did that there is a ‘John Travola name generator’, which will produce your very own Travola-inspired fucked up name. Travola released a lame, short statement that said “I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought … what would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!'” Yeah, whatever Tramola. Hercules and Love Affair have a new album due out May 27. It’s called The Feast Of The Broken Heart, and you can listen to the first single below, called Do You Feel The Same?. I’m not sure I do, but check it out all the same.
