Morning Music Notes – App Happy
We have another track from Washington DC’s Misun, who we featured for their track Nothing Else. The track is called Travel with Me, which is a phrase I say to my cat way too often.
Travel With Me has a bit of a tropical feel to it, with its energetic and clap happy beat. The track is part of a double A-side vinyl, out February 18. Give it a spin below.

Remember when Godspeed You! Black Emperor controversially won the Polaris Prize for best Canadian album last year and they had an interesting acceptance response? While promoting his latest work with Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra’s new album, GY!BE co-founder Efrim Menuck spoke to Exclaim and said “As a band, we said everything we had to say honestly. The only thing I’d add to it is, it was the strangest thing to go into the day of the award show hoping that we would not win.” Read the full thing on Exclaim.
In case you missed in, the Governors Ball in New York has one heck of a line up – some might argue that it’s better than Coachella’s. You have headliners OutKast, Jack White, and Vampire Weekend, then the Strokes, Skrillex, Phoenix, Interpol, Disclosure, plus a solo set from Strokes singer Julian Casablancas, Broken Bells, TV on the Radio, Damon Albarn solo set, Grimes, James Blake, The Kills, Run the Jewels, Half Moon Run, and I could go on and on. So I will. Also playing are… Okay, I won’t. Tickets went on sale yesterday, so hurry hurry.
Meanwhile, another big American festival, PETEStock Bonnaroo, will announce its line up on February 19. (via Consequence of Sound)
Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, had his conviction upheld in a California appeals court. Murray was originally convicted of giving Michael Jackson a lethal dosage of propofol back in June 2009. (via Guardian)
