Morning Music Notes – Dr. Phil and the Ruff Ryder Crew
In the latest version of BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, we see California sister trio (a phrase I wish I wrote more often) HAIM cover everyone’s favourite singer, the Twerkacyrus Rex herself – Miley Cyrus.
HAIM decided not to cover a Hannah Montana-era diddy, but instead focused on current single, Wrecking Ball. No twerking in this video, but a good cover. Check it out below.

Does playing Glastonbury help the sales of artists? If you said yes, you win (nothing). How much of an impact you ask? Glastonbury acts saw a rise of 536% in sales on Amazon’s UK site. Arctic Monkeys saw a sales increase of 1795% for their third album, Humbug. Of course percentages can be misleading, but fun to look at (like stupid but pretty girls) (via Gigwise)
Apple released iOS 7 recently. Surely, this will solve the horrific Apple Maps, right? Apparently not, as the Apple Maps directions to the Fairbanks Airport in Alaska suggest that you DRIVE ON THE RUNWAY! For a trip down memory lane (and to disastrous Apple Maps locations), check out the Apple Maps gallery of disaster. (via Crave)
First, Eminem had Shady Records. Now, he has Shady Films – a venture with LOUD channel and Electus. It sort of sounds like a name an adult film company would use, but rest assured it is not (via Pigeons and Planes)
And just because – watch Dr. Phil interview DMX! Not sure who set this up. “Your talent is as intact now as it was 10 years ago, so why aren’t you making $13 million a year still?”
