Listen! J. Roddy Walston & The Business – Marigold
When I first heard of J. Roddy Walston & The Business, I thought they sounded like they would fit-in perfectly on the new Discovery Channel show, Amish Mafia (yes, that is a real show). The Amish however, would hate JRW&TB’s brand of rock and roll music.
PHM has previously told you about their upcoming new album, Essential Tremors, and let you listen to the track Heavy Bells. Now we have another rockin’ song to check out. This one is called Marigold. It’s a jumpin’ tune that musically reminds me of the Rolling Stones in their rockin’ prime. Black Keys fans will like this stuff.
Weird Side-Note:
J. Roddy Walston & The Business are originally from Cleveland, Tennessee. I am probably one of the few people in the world who know that Cleveland, TN is just north of the Georgia border. That’s because in March of 1993, my family and I were stuck with hundreds of other vehicles in a massive blizzard (“Storm of the Century”) on Interstate-75 right outside Cleveland, TN for like 8 hrs before we joined a convoy southbound, in the empty northbound lanes. I’ll never forget it.
So please, if you like good rock and roll music, or bands with really long names, check out Marigold by J. Roddy Walston & The Business. Also, hours from now when you are done at PHM, Google “Storm of the Century 1993” and take a look at the radar images of that storm system, it puts ‘little’ hurricanes to shame.
