Tuesday Trivia – Week 51

This is Week 51 of the PeteHatesMusic Tuesday Trivia – our first trivia session in 2013. Let’s hope the holiday break gave us some great new ideas and clues (hint: it’s didn’t).

Clue Number 1 (Correct answer worth 6 points)

We are from Palm Desert, California, USA.

Our first album was a self-titled release in 1998, and that has been followed by four more albums, the last being in 2007. We are currently recording album number 6.

Our original band name was Gamma Ray, but a German metal band had the same name and threatened to sue us.

We gained some more mainstream recognition when Dave Grohl drummed on our album Songs for the Deaf.

Our lead singer, Josh Homme, formed a side project with Dave Grohl called Them Crooked Vultures. Our bassist Nick Oliveri was arrested in 2011 for a standoff with a police SWAT team.
