Watch! Atoms For Peace – Judge Jury and Executioner
Great news to snap those Monday blues – NEW MUSIC FROM ATOMS FOR PEACE! If you don’t read my blog daily, you ARE A FOOL might not know that Atoms for Peace is Thom Yorke’s side project with RHCP bassist Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco. Regular readers will also know that Thom Yorke will definitely be getting a Valentine’s card from me.
The new song is called Judge Jury and Executioner, and has been played live by Atoms for Peace previously. The track is off of upcoming release, Amok, which is out February 25/26. You might have already heard the excellent Default from the album.
The track is a lot better than the live versions I have heard. It has a bit of an In Rainbows / The King of Limbs Radiohead vibe, in that it features haunting Thom Yorke vocal tracks, with an acoustic guitar, and some great bass work. Oh, and there’s layers. Check out the video below, which features imagery by audiovisual artist Tarik Barri. The B-side to the new single will have a tune called S.A.D.
