Watch! Grimes – Flesh without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream
Grimes has been teasing a ‘surprise’ album release for sometime. We knew that the name of the new album would be Art Angels, and it will be out on November 6. What we didn’t know was that we’d be getting an artsy, costume-filled new video from the Montreal electropop singer.
We get the very interesting, 7 minute number Flesh without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream. Grimes has gone out of her way to explain on social media that this is just one of many sounds on the album, so don’t freak out (as everyone did when she dropped the panned but fantastic song, Go). The song starts off with a polished bubblegum pop sound, and adds layers of sound, while Claire Boucher dons various outfits in the video. The song switches things up around the 5 minute mark, with a delicate outro. Check out the production below.
