Morning Music Notes – It Will Sync Up with Every Sound Ever
According to the email from the band, they are called DAVIDS. Not Davids, and certainly not David’s. DAVIDS. Now that this is out of the way, Davids DAVIDS has a tune they want us to hear called Iranians.
We get some fuzzy electro pop from the Toronto band. And if you weren’t in the mood to dance, maybe the video will inspire you. Take a look below.

The Juno Awards for the best in Canadian music were held last night in Winnipeg (consult your nearest globe to figure out where the heck Winnipeg is). Some winners for the bigger prizes include Arcade Fire for Album of the Year, Tegan and Sara for Single of the Year, Serena Ryder for Songwriter of the Year, The Sheepdogs for Video of the Year, and Justin Bieber for Juno Fan Choice Award for the 4th year in a row (!!). See the full list here.
Julian Casablancas is going to be a busy boy. The Strokes’ front man has said he is aiming for a September release date for some more solo work. As for his main act, the Strokes are recording a few songs here and there and also doing some shows and festivals. All Julian, all the time. (via Consequence of Sound)
The Flaming Lips are releasing a companion piece to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. While the original is rumoured to sync up to the original Wizard of Oz film, the new piece called Flaming Side of the Moon is made to listen to simultaneously with the original album AND it will sync up with the Wizard of Oz. Sounds, um, normal. If you recall, the band released Zaireeka, which was intended to be heard by playing all four CDs in four separate CD players simultaneously. The band are way ahead of our time or are insane. (via Rolling Stone)
