Morning Music Notes – Eight Hour Tea Shop Jams
Dallas Green and his City & Colour moniker have a new song from fourth album, The Hurry and the Harm. The Juno nominee and performer new song is called The Lonely Life and is seemingly named after me. *tear
The video is a mix of artists and paranormal activity and love, I think. The moral of the video is clearly that using a typewriter can get still get you babes. Check it out below.

The 2nd annual Prism Prize, which awards a prize for the Best Canadian Music Video, has announced it’s shortlist of 10 videos. Oh, did I mention I’m a Prism Prize juror? Anyway, me and other clearly intelligent people have narrowed down hundreds of videos to 10. I submitted a list of 5, and 2 made it, so that’s not bad. Or is it terrible? I don’t know. Check out the list below, and find out more info here. The winner is announced March 23.

In case you didn’t see our Twitter or Facebook feeds yesterday, 2 major Toronto music festivals announced their line ups. The 2nd annual Field Trip, put on by Arts & Crafts, will play Fort York and the Garrison Common on June 7/8. It will feature Broken Social Scene (again), Interpol, CHVRCHES, The Kills, Constantines, Half Moon Run, Austra, Fucked Up, and more. Click here for details. Oh, and Torquil Campbell of Stars tweeted his displeasure of Interpol being invited and Stars NOT being invited, despite what they’ve done for Arts & Crafts. His tweet has since been deleted. It existed, I swear!
Drake announced one act for his 5th annual OVO Fest in August. One doesn’t sound like much, but when that one is OutKast, well, that’s pretty exciting.
Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan will perform an eight hour ambient jam inspired by the Herman Hesse novella Siddhartha. Who didn’t see that coming?! I don’t understand half the words in that first sentence if I’m being honest. It’ll go down at his Chicago tea shop on February 28. (via The Guardian)
Founding Devo member Bob Casale has died at the age of 61. (via Billboard)
