Morning Music Notes – Beer Air Hockey is the Best Game Ever

We’ve been prepping you for awhile, with tracks like Waste of Time, XXX 88, and Never Wanna Know, but one of the acts to watch out for in 2014 is Denmark’s . BBC Radio’s Zane Lowe picked her new track, Don’t Wanna Dance, as his ‘Hottest Record in the World’ last night.

Remember the news that Jack White said he was producing two albums, and one was his? The crazy horse rumours going around now are that Jack White is doing a covers album with Neil Young. Mind = blown. (via Consequence of Sound)

The Oscar nominations are out! After watching Superbad, did anyone ever think you’d hear the phrase “two time Oscar nominee, Jonah Hill”?! In terms of music, we got Best Original Song nominees for U2, Karen O (from Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Pharrell, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Idina Menzel. Since academies and judges like U2, bank on them taking it home.

Of course this happened – an anonymous group has started the Church of Yeezus, in recognition of Kanye West and his latest album. Preach! Wait until Kanye West sues you – then where will your God be? (via MTV)

Drake is in NYC for his host and musical guest double duties on Saturday Night Live. He stopped by Jimmy Fallon, but instead of making his guests play beer pong, he did a little beer hockey (since Drake is Canadian, get it?). Well, air hockey. And it’s so cool, you’ll want your own table.
