Morning Music Notes – Banks of London

Los Angeles pop artist Banks, who has wowed us with her voice and the talented producers that she’s roped in (such as SOHN and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) has just released her London EP. The even better news is that it is streaming below.

Banks - Bedroom Wall

The EP will draw you in with Banks’ seductive voice, and the dark, often subtle production work will keep you wanting more (much like these delicious gummi bears I cannot stop eating). Catch Banks as she opens for The Weeknd, and keep an eye on her as she continues to make waves.

Arctic Monkeys, who we saw last night in Toronto (my hangover is proof of this), set a UK album chart record with their new album, AM. The album hit #1, making it the band’s 5th straight number 1 album, which makes them the first indie-released act to accomplish this feat in the UK. Will the streak ever end? (via NME)

Kanye West hasn’t gotten off scott-free from his altercation at LAX airport back in July. He has been charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft for attacking Daniel Ramos (via Stereogum)

Paul McCartney, former bassist in some band called The Beatles (is it actually spelt that way?), has released the tracklisting and producers for his new 10 track album, called New. Check it out below.

A one-of-a-kind Radiohead cassette tape from 1986 has been placed for auction and sold for £2,000 ($3250ish Cdn). I love Radiohead but could think of 3250 better ways to spend my money. One: send Thom Yorke lovely gift baskets full of baked goods. Two: pay court fees for being accused of stalking Thom Yorke, for continually sending him gift baskets full of baked goods. (via NME)
